In the course-,of further debate in the Senate on the Moroccan treaty M. Jenouvrier dh'arged M. Caillaux with having, when secretary, negotiated with Germany and offered to code the French colony in the Pacific. M. Deselves .denied' any. knowledge of the alleged offers to Germany. M. Jenouvrier replied that M. Deselves was fice. When the offers were made had he done so he would have been the most popular man in France, but he preferred to sacrifice popularity to the silent accomplishment of his duty. M. Caillaux, in a letter to the newspapers denying the accusations of Destornelles, said ho considered the attacks on M.,Cdillaux exaggerated. jU
