SUMMER MADNESS.
(To the Editor “Stratford Post.”)
Sir, —As. the Mad Prince of Denmark has just passed through our town it probably accounts for the senile decay/that seems to be prevalent on the Borough Council just now. A road roller, forsooth: bring along the keepers, as they will be wanted. Probably .tp.e wandering minds of the City Fathers could grasp this problem: What are the streets going to be like this coming winter ? Can they, or will they devote a little of their time to what wants doing; instead of talking loan ? In thqir, anxiety for more money they applied and got a revaluation of the Borough. Let property pwners beware .what they 'are doing; let them consider what Ijd in the £ on /the unimproved value means,. In many cases it will mean very heavy taxation, and the Council have loaded the ratepayers to the limit the law allows on the general rate now. Road roller for a month! s work at /the outside costs_ about £IOOO. Send along a phrenologist and get their heads read. I am, etc.,
