The Premiers’ Conference resolved that it Avas unable to accept Mr. Fisher’s Cbmmomvealth Bank scheme, and adopted the folloAving proposal in lieu thereof That in consideration of the CommonAvealth Bank refraining from entering the savings bank business, the States agree to supply, on loan to the Comraomvealth Bank, a monthly amount equal to 25 per cent, increase in excess of deposits over A\ithdrawals of the State Savings Bank, to operate from the Ist of the present month, for a period of five years. Mr. Watt (Victoria) Avas the only dissentient. The Premiers’ Conference has not finished the discussion on Mr. Holman’s proposals for the transfer of State poAvers.
