(Received 23, 8.30 a.m.) Sydney, January 23,
The Bingara tragedy is most mysterious. Ball recently returned from England, bringing a young wife. The couple were left in charge of Mack’s Selection. Mack, returning in a few days, found the house open and nobody about. A search disclosed the remains of a fire in the bush, remnants of the woman’s clothing, and charred pelvis, leg and skull bones. A man, supposed to be Ball, visited a hotel on Tuesday night, and cashed Mack’s cheque. Next morning ho purchased a ticket at a railway station twenty miles distant. A warrant has been issued for Ball’s arrest on a charge of murder.
