In the contest between Scotland and France the former scored 31 points to the latter’s 3. When Barrow met Australia the latter scored six tries, whereof Frawley converted two. Barrow scored a drop-kicked goal and a try.

ENGLISHMEN AT BALLARAT.

Ballarat scored 318 in their first innings. Iremonger. captured seven wickets for 66 runs, and Vine four for 100.

England has scored 350 for the loss of two wickets (Hobbs 74, Kinnear 114, Vine not out, and Gunn 31 not out). i
