THE CASINO TRAGEDY

At the inquest in connection with the Casino tragedy the verdict was that Bertie Gilmore died through a gunshot wound self-inflicted, and that ‘Mrs Perkins died from a gunshot wound, but there was no evidence to show how it was inflicted. Already there is an enormous demand for European clothing. UNPARALLELED PROSPERITY. (Received 11, 9.10 a.m.) Sydney, January 11. Unparalleled prosperity prevailed in the building trade last year. Over six thousand dwellings were erected in the suburbs. The expenditure on buildings amounted to £6,000,000. Representatives of all industries report remarkable prosperity with probably a continuance/ MOUNT LYELL MINE. (Received 11, 10.50 a.m.) Hobart, January 11. Five hundred men are working at the Mount Lyell mine. The management can put on an additional two hundred.
