The Athletic News states, that the Australian footballers’ receipts covered expenses, and it is hoped additional fixtures will leave a fair profit. The Australians (three goals and ten tries) defeated England (a goal and two tries). HOME TEAM OUTPLAYED. London, January 1. In the match Australasia v. England, Australasia scored three goals and nine tries. There were four thousand spectators. England made an excellent start, scoring two tries. The Australasians then became aggressive and scored three times in quick succession. At half-time the score was: Australasia 11, England 8. In the second' spell the visitors spiritedly outplayed the home team.
