(Per Press Association.) Gore, December 6. A verdict of found drowned was returned at the inquest on the body of Thos. Barrett, found in a dredging dam on Sunday. Gisborne, December 6. In the case, Police v. Williams, confectioner, for Sunday trading, the Magistrate held that the law did not allow the selling of soft drinks on Sundays. Defendant was convicted and lined a nominal amount. Wanganui, December G. At a meeting of the Education Board yesterday, Mr. W. A. Armour, M.A., M.Sc., present assistant master at the Otago Boys’ High School, was appointed principal of the Wanganui Technical College. There were twen-ty-live applicants from all parts of the Dominion. Eltham, December 6. At the Magistrate’s Court to-day D. P. Patterson, charged with sending in a claim for enrolment containing a false statement on behalf of another person, was fined £2O and costs. Otliei electoral prosecutions are being heard.
