The judicial committee of the Racing Conference upheld the appeal of Julian against the decision of the Wanganui Metropolitan Committee in dismissing his appeal against the decision of the Wanganui Jockey Club in suspending him for twelve months. The judges disagreed with the interpretation of pulling accepted by stewards, and removed Julian’s disqualification. They add an opinion that the riding of Julian justified an enquiry, and if the stewards had found him guilty of failing to ride the horse out they would not have been disposed to disturb that decision.

The Racing Conference judges dismissed the appeal of the Egniont Racing Club against the removal of Barlow’s disqualification.
