REWARDING BRAVERY.
THE KING’S COMMAND,
(Per Press Association.) Auckland, October SO Mr S. Francis, now employed by the Auckland Gas Co., has received a message that His Majesty the King desires to personally confer on him a decoration for conspicuous bravery. Mr Francis, at' great risk to his own life, descended a pit and rescued two mates who had been overcome by poisonous fumes. Mr Francis io;n es for England in December.
