WHANGAMOMONA.
The Whangamomona Town . Hall was filled to overflowing on Friday, June 16th, when the second of a series of socials took place, the object of the gathering being to raise funds for erecting shelter-sheds at the Whangamomona school. The proposed object will benefit, after, peases are paid, by about £7. The supper, which was provided by the ladies, was of the best, and ample' justice was done to it. The. committee intend holding similar socials luring the winter months, which no. doubt will bo looked forward to. Songs were contributed during the evening •>y Mrs Sira, and Messrs Sim, Hunter and Albertson, and a duet, by Miss Olausen and Mr Mills. A Maori haka was also introduced, and created a considerable amount of laughter. Excellent dance music was supplied by Miss Wilson and Messrs Modeler and Mason, and extras were contributed by Misses Cal■gher and Baker.
