TURKISH NEUTRALITY
Increasing Difficulties
(8.0.W.) RUGBY, November 1. Turkey’s film intention to observe her obligations in the coming year was emphasized, according to the Swiss radio, by the President Ismet Inonu, at the opening of the autumn session of the Turkish National Assembly,
Forcasting that the year might bring more violent conflicts, the President added: “A policy based on domination of the world by one nation is impossible. Events of the future will show even more clearly that small nations, as well as great nations, have the right of freedom of existence. It is increasingly difficult for the Government to adhere to a policy of neutrality since the enmity between the belligerents is constantly increasing. At this moment our country is nearer war than at the opening of hostilities. It is above all necessary to establish an atmosphere of general confidence and most of all it is necessary to keep our armed forces in readiness”
