ITALIANS REMINDED OF INVASION
(Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, October 29. The Italian invasion of Greece was celebrated by a squadron of the Royal Hellenic Air Force fighting with the British forces in the Western Desert, with heavy ground strafing attacks on enemy positions in the battle area. Their target was Italian headquarters in the southern sector of the El Alamein front. Led by their wing commander the Greeks swept down in force in face of light and heavy anti-air-craft fire. Lorries were seen to go up in flames and the aircraft poured hundreds of rounds of machine-gun bullets into tents and gun nests. Only one of the aircraft failed to return.
