DARLAN’S INSPECTION
Visit To Garrison At Oran
LONDON, October 28. Vichy radio announced that Admiral Jean Darlan, Commander-in-Chief of the Vichy Forces, continuing his inspection tour, visited the garrison at Oran, and went on to Algiers. In an interview with the newspaper Petit Parisien, General Joseph Nogues, Resident General of Morocco, declared: “Morocco will be defended with unabated energy. The natives will come down from the villages at the slightest call. Our coasts are as strongly fortified as those of West Africa.”
