HOME GUARDSMAN FINED
Insubordination Charge (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, October 29. The first case of its kind, that of a Home Guardsman being charged with insubordination, was heard in the Magistrate’s Court today when Percy Jarden was fined 20/- and costs. The prosecution said Jarden had been talking to other men while on parade and had been warned. Jarden had replied sharply and threatened .to throw his rifle away. The defence was that the remark was made as a joke.
