FISHING COMPETITION

The Ohal Anglers' Club held a roving competition bn Labour Day and some good bags were weighed in, although the weather was unsettled. The results were as follows (all cleaned weight):—

Raffle, 1 fish, liu/aoz, and J. Smith, 1 fish, 15>,40z (equal), 2; W. Horner, 2 fish, 14oz, 4. Messrs Moss, Cochrane and Grant (Ohai) travelled to the Whitestone and Mararoa for the week-end and caught 30 fish averaging 61b each. Their heaviest was 121 b,
