SOUTHLAND SOLDIERS Private Sidney Macauley Millar, who has been reported a prisoner of war, previously reported missing, is a son of Mr J. C. Millar, Otautau. Born at Otautau 24 years ago, Private Millar was educated at the Otautau School and the Southland Boys’ High School, where he passed his university entrance examination. He was later employed at the Otautau branch of the National Bank. He was a keen footballer and cricketer and represented the Southland Boys’ High School and the Western and Central Districts. He was also keenly interested in amateur theatricals. Private Millar went overseas with the 6th Reinforcements and served in Libya.
