VISITORS TO STEWART ISLAND.— The strong easterly wind which blew on > Saturday made Foveaux Strait unpleasantly rough for the trip to Stewart Island. Despite this many persons spent the week-end at the island, among them being a party of about 30 from the Y.M.C.A. The weather improved considerably on Sunday so that the visitors were able to view the various beauty spots at Halfmoon Bay and Paterson Inlet. There was only a light wind on Monday and the return journey was a more pleasant one for those who fared badly on Saturday.
