JAPANESE CRUISERS DAMAGED
(Rec. 1.15 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Oct. 26. The Navy announced that two Japanese cruisers and a destroyer were damaged, one cruiser probably damaged and one possibly damaged. Marines repulsed four attempts to break through the land defences on Guadalcanar and 20 attacking Japanese planes were shot down in a single raid.
