Cold and Showery
(Special) WELLINGTON, October 26. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington:— Fresh to strong south-westerly winds. Weather cold, changeable and showery with scattered hail, but conditions later improving gradually from the west.
The weather in Invercargill yesterday was fine with a south-westerly wind. In the evening conditions became stormy and rain fell.
At 1 o’clock this morning a strong wind was blowing. The barometer reading was 29.63 in. (falling). The Sun. —Sunrise at 5.32 a.m.; sunset at 7.32 p.m. The Tides. —High water. Bluff 3.56 a.m. and 4.19 p.m.; Invercargill, 4.37 a.m. and 5.0 p.m.; Riverton, 2.56 a.m. and 3.19 p.m.; Oreti Beach, 3.5 a.m. and 3.28 p.m.
