TOURNAMENT AT GORE The Gore Golf Club’s tournament was concluded yesterday when women’s championship and medal matches were conducted. A stableford match and a bogey match for men were also played during the day. The conditions were much improved and the links were in splendid order. There was some good scoring in the women’s matches and competition was fairly ken. The senior championship match was won by Miss F. Milne (Wyndham) with a total score of 212. In the morning round Miss Milne returned a card of 108 and in the afternoon she showed an improvement of four on this total. Mrs G. R. Martin, the only other competitor in the senior match, returned a card of 107-109-216. Twenty-five players took part in the junior championship and competition in this match was keen. Mrs Hannan (Wyndham) was the winner with a card of 103-106-209, Mrs A. D. Reid being runner-up with 108-103-211. At the end of play for the day the president, Mr J. A. S. Aitken, presented the trophies to the successful competitors and congratulated them on their good performances. He thanked all visitors for giving their support. Ryan 105-109-214. Medal matches (morning): Mrs J. A. S. Aitken 103-29-74; Mrs Bulling 99-19-80; Mrs Mitchell 114-34-80. Afternoon match: Mrs A. D. Reid 103-21-82; Miss E. Graham 112-28-84; Mrs W. F. Young 120-36-84. As Mrs Reid had already won a prize as runner-up of the junior championship the prize for this event was awarded to Miss Graham, who beat Mrs Young on the count back. Men’s matches. —Stableford (morning): E. S. Thomson 27-6-33; L. G. Thomson 26-6-32; L. G. Tomlson 15-17-32. Bogey (afternoon): A. Cullen, 2 down. OPEN TOURNAMENT AT QUEEN’S PARK An open tournament was held on the Queen’s Park golf links yesterday, the weather being fine with a cold southwest wind. Satisfactory entries were received for both the stroke match in the morning and the Canadian foursomes in the afternoon. The best cards were: —
