(P.A.) NAPIER, October 24. Mrs A. B. Campbell, the elder of the two victims injured in Wednesday night’s tragedy died at 1.30 this morning. The other victim, who has also died, was Mrs Colin Campbell, a daugh-ter-in-law of Mrs A. B. Campbell.

According to a previous message the two women were attacked on Wednesday night and grievously injured. In the Magistrate's Court at Napier on Thursday David John Campbell, aged 20, a timber worker, was charged with attempting to murder the two women. The police asked for, and were granted, a remand for a week during which the mentality of the accused would be inquired into. The two victims subsequently died.
