HEALTH CAMP BENEFIT
The annual spectacular demonstration to be staged by the Southland School of Highland and Classic Dancing in the Civic Theatre next Wednesday evening promises to be an entertainment of outstanding merit. In addition to a well-arranged programme of Highland and national dancing ensembles, Lancashire and waltz time clog dances, the public will have the pleasure of hearing Miss Nancy O’Brien (soprano), Mr Jack Stevenson (baritone), the sextet from the Southland Girls’ High School in part songs, Misses Rosalie Ferry and Marie Winders (pianoforte duet), winners at the 1941 and 1942 Dunedin competitions festival, also Saraband, beautifully costumed, by nurses from Kew Hospital with Nurse S. Dunbar as vocalist. Mr Alex Sutherland this year is giving the proceeds as a benefit to the Childrerv’s Health Camp Association for soldiers’ children and as the blackout will not affect theatre entertainments the public is advised to book early. The box plan is now open at Begg’s with day sales at Matheson’s fruit shop, Tay street.— Advt.
