MAORIS’ WAR EFFORT

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, October 23. ‘"Hie part being played by the Maoris in the war effort is being left largely in the hands of the Maori war effort organization and its various local tribal committees working in close co-opera-tion with district man-power officers, said the Minister of Industrial ManPower, the Hon. A. McLagan, today. He paid a tribute to the important part the Maori people were playing in wartime industry. Man-power officers, said the Minister, were giving the fullest assistance wherever required and at the same time consulting tribal committees on all questions relating to Maori manpower and woman-power.
