ISSUE OF NEW RATION BOOKS

On Wednesday 2333 adults’ and 429 children’s ration books were issued at the Chief Post Office, Invercargill, a total of 2762 for the day. In addition 553 sheets of extra clothing coupons for children aged 5 to 17 years were issued. Since the distribution of the books began on Monday 7695 books and 1880 sheets of extra clothing coupons have been issued at Invercargill. If it is at all possible application for new coupon books should be made in the morning. So far the majority of applicants have visited the post office in the afternoon with the result that many have had to wait a considerable time In the queue.
