SHALE DEPOSITS OF SOUTHLAND.— At a meeting of the Southland branch of the Royal Society this evening, to which the general public is invited, the subject of the address will be one of considerable interest to the people of Southland. Mr R. W. Willett, of the Department of Industrial and Scientific Research, will discuss the shale deposits of Otago and Southland wis special reference to Orepuki.
