BATHS MORE POPULAR

Single admissions to the tepid baths last month constituted a record for September. The total was 2414, or over 1000 more than the total for the corresponding month last year, and 600 more than the total for September 1940. This record was attained in spite of the cold, wintry weather which prevailed at periods last month. Tire takings last month were £lB above those for September 1941. Before the policy was adopted of having the baths closed for three months in the winter the average takings for September were about £47. Since the policy of winter closing was adopted the average for September has been £93. Last month the returns were £3 above the latter figure and £36 better than the September average since the baths were opened in 1927.
