; The following committees will be pack- . ing parcels during the next four weeks: — ; East Invercargill, October 19 and 20; ; Georgetown, October 22 and 23; Gladstone, October 26 and 27; Ryal Bush, all day Wednesday, October 28; North Invercargill, October 29 and 30; South A, November 2 , and 3; Winton, all day Wednesday, November 4; South B, November 5 and 6; Waikiwi, November 9 and 10; Waianiwa, all day Wednesday, November 11; Hawthomdale, November, 12 and 13. Knitted goods have been received from Titiroa, Hedgehope school children, Winton, Woodend, East Invercargill, South B, South A, Lochiel Busy Bees, Woodlands, Central, Waimatuku, Bay Road, Mabel Bush and Otatara. SUB-COMMITTEE NOTES East Invercargill.—The committee is making arrangements for a dug-out day the first Friday in December. Georgetown.—The house-to-house collection for October amounted to £44/10/6, including a donation of £l/10/- from the Georgetown Croquet Club. South A and B.—The sum of £4B/2/9 was collected last week at the dug-out and the committees wish to thank those who gave their support. Avenal-Northend.—The Lady Galway Guild will meet on Wednesday at the home of Mrs John Macdonald. Gladstone.—The committee wishes to thank “the Birds” for another donation. Instructions in papier mache work are being given at the Lady Galway Guild. Anyone interested is invited to attend on Friday afternoons at 2 p.m. in All Saints’ Hall. Central.—Knitting is acknowledged from the Technical College, Middle School and Individual knitters. RED CROSS NEWS The monthly meeting of the Invercargill sub-centre will be held on Wednesday at 7.30 p.m. in the depot, Esk street. Next week the members of the Gladstone committee will be in charge of the depot, Esk street. The members of the South Invercargill committee will visit the hospital to help with the sewing. The society acknowledges with thanks the following donations: Lumsden sub-centre, £l3; Otahuti sub-centre, £2. Georgetown Committee.—Members are reminded of the gift afternoon to be held on Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the Presbyterian Hall, Centre street. East Invercargill Committee.—The committee members will meet on Thursday, October 22, in the Mitchell street kindergarten hall at 3 p.m. North Invercargill.—The members of this branch wish to thank all who helped with the recent card evening, which was successful, also the donors of prizes and those who provided the supper. Gladstone Committee.—The members of this branch intend to hold a card party in tlie Southland Women’s Club on November 2. Mrs T. F. Gilkison will supply particulars. Voluntary Aid Notices. —On Monday the hygiene and sanitation class will be held in the V.A. rooms at 7.15 p.m. sharp. On Tuesday the monthly detachment meeting | will be held, when the speaker will be Miss Ross, of Caimsmore hospital. A full attendance is requested. On Wednesday at 7.15 p.m. the home-nvrsing class will meet. Joint Committee of St. John and the N.Z. Red Cross Society This week nine dressinggowns have gone forward to headquarters. The committee acknowledges with thanks donations as follows: “Anonymous,. £1; Miss McLachlan, £5; Mrs Hempton. Toa, 10/-; Mrs H. Jones, £1; Mrs McFadyen, 10/-; Mrs Dore, 5/-. WOMEN’S AUXILIARY A shift from Area 3 will be on duty at the field canteen today and a shift from Area 4 on October 24. Area 9 will be on duty at the waste paper depot on Friday, October 23. A supervisors’ meeting will be held in the E.P.S. office, Kelvin street, at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Mrs Corkill will be on duty in the office on Friday, October 23. The signalling group will hold a dance in the U.F.S. Hall at 8 p.m. on Monday.
