GORE NEWS

RAILWAY TRUCKING YARDS—lmprovements and alterations which will cost about £lOOO are to be carried out by the Railways Department at the trucking yards at Gore. These yards are considered to be the second busiest in the South Island and the proposed improvements have long been needed. It is the intention to drain the yards and to carry out alterations so that cattle can be trucked from the south end and sheep from the north. When the work is finished the facilities for the loading of stock should be much improved. At some future date it is also proposed to pave some of the yards.
