HEDGE DAMAGED BY FIRE.— The City Fire Brigade received a call shortly after noon yesterday to 439 Dee street, where a fire had occurred in a large macrocarpa hedge. About 20 feet of the hedge had been destroyed when the brigade arrived, but the blaze was quickly extinguished before any further damage was done. It is thought that the fire was caused by children playing with matches.
