WATERSIDER’S THEFT

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, October 8. Arrested early this morning on a vessel, Eric William Running, aged 31, a watersider, was sentenced in the Magistrate’s Court to two weeks’ imprisonment for stealing a 101 b tin of raisins valued at 12/2, the property of the United States authorities. The Magistrate, Mr J. Morling, said Running was seen by a sailor on guard opening a tin of raisins with a knife which a sailor had lent him.
