COUNTERFEIT AMERICAN NOTES

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, October 7. It is reported that counterfeit American 10-dollar notes have been circulating in New Zealand and bank officers have been instructed to scrutinize carefully all American notes presented. One counterfeit note presented at a Wellington bank showed that the forgery had been cleverly executed and that the note requires to be inspected most carefully to distinguish it from a genuine one.
