DAILY EXPRESS TO DUNEDIN

Better Service Sought

The necessity for an improved express train service between Invercargill and Dunedin was emphasized by Mr G. J. Reed at the meeting of the council of the Invercargill Chamber of Commerce yesterday. Mr Reed pointed out that the absence of the morning express from Invercargill to Dunedin on three mornings a week was a hardship on the travelling public, and he urged that the chamber move to try to get the full service restored. Members of the council agreed that a better interprovincial service was necessary, and it was decided to send a deputation to the district railways traffic manager to ask for the restoration of the daily express service.
