£lOO FOR PATRIOTIC FUND.— A successful concert in aid of the patriotic fund was given at Waianiwa by a party organized by Mr P. L. Hodge, the satisfactory sum of £lOO being raised. Goods were auctioned by Mr C. Todd and items were given by Miss D. Foothead, Miss Shirley Turner, Mrs A. Melrose’s dancing pupils, Messrs J. Gilchrist and R. Cameron, Mr B. Inkster, Mr W. Palmer and Mr Hodge, who conducted community singing. Mrs Ivor Wilson was the accompanist.
