Cooler With Showers (Special) WELLINGTON, Sept. 1. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland, issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington:— Fresh to strong north-westerly winds changing to westerly or southwesterly. The weather fair and mild at first in the east, but showers and cooler temperatures accompanying the wind change and snow probable later on the ranges. The weather in Invercargill yesterday wag fine and sunny, except for a short period of overcast weather in the afternoon. At 1 o’clock this morning the weather was cool calm and clear. The barometer reading ’was 29.82 in. (steady). The Tides. —High water, Invercargill, 8.02 а. 8.29 pm. Bluff, 7.21 a.m.; 7.48 p.m. Riverton, 621 a.m.; 6.48 p.m. Oreti Beach, б. a.m.; 6.57 p.m. The Sun. —Rises 7.17 a.m.; sets, 6.17 p.m.
