FEWER BIRTHS IN CITY IN AUGUST
Births in Invercargill during August showed a sharp reduction compared with the figures for the same month of last year. Deaths during the month were much higher than in 1941. The details are as follows, the figures for the same month of last year being given in parentheses: —Births, 53 (70); deaths, 37 (25); marriages, 20 (33).
