WINTON HORSE SALE At the Winton horse sale last Friday, prices showed another rise, good working horses meeting with a ready demand. One registered 5-year-old mare made £26, and another 5-year-old mare broken to chain work made £26 also. A 6-year-old gelding broken to all work made £24, and two 4-year-old geldings made £22 and £2O. Hacks sold readily, but horses just broken in were hard to quit. Prices were as follows:—Five-year-old mare £l4, 6-year half-draft mares, £l2 and £ll, 6-year mare £9/10/-, 7-year-old gelding £7/10/-, 7-year-old mares £l4, £9/10/-, 8-year-old mare £l4/10/-, aged geldings £lO, £9/10/-, aged mares £8 down to £5, 7-year-old jogger horse £l6, 7-year-old pony £l3, plough £l7. WYNDHAM~STOCK SALE There was a small yarding of all classes of sheep penned at the Wyndham stock sale. Fat wethers sold under keen competition, beit quality making from 40/- to 45/-, lighter from 34/- to 38/-, store wethers 26/to 28/-, wether hoggets 24/-. A line of f. and f. breeding ewes sold at 25/11. There were a few pens of good quality bullocks, and these sold from £l3 to £l7/10/-, fat heifers £8 to £ll, fat cows £7'to £lO/10/-. The store cows sold from £4 to £5/10/-, two and three-year Hereford, steers £lO 12/6, yearling Black Poll steers £5/5/-, heifers £4/2/-. There was a large yarding of dairy cows and heifers, best sorts sold at recent market rates. One line of 14 : heifers averaged £B/13/-, dairy cows £7 to £lO. The few pigs penned were keenly
