VICTORIA MEMORIAL HOME The annual meeting of the Victoria Memorial Home was held yesterday in the board rooms, Mr A. W. Jones presiding over a , good attendance of members. Curson, explained t that the work formerly carried on by the i home of looking after girls and children had ; had to be abandoned because of high ex- { penses, the problem of staffing and few • girls availing themselves of the facilities of 4 the home. In March, as a temporary meas- , ure, after the home had been made bright ■* and attractive, a new scheme was brought c into operation by which young girls from E the country were given accommodation at t terms in accordance with their salaries. The \ girls, of a good type, had conformed to c the rules and had been appreciative of the j comforts of the home.
