COLLECTION OF BOOKS BY SCHOOLS

APPRECIATION OF Y.M.C.A. The general secretary of the Y.M.C.A. in Invercargill (Mr Dudley Wills) has forwarded the following letter to the headmasters of seven Invercargill schools: “My board has directed me to write to you and express its thanks for the splendid response of your school to the appeal for books for camps. The number of books received was indeed gratifying. The city librarian is now classifying the books ready for distribution to the camps and I can assure you that they will be greatly appreciated by the men. Please accept our sincere thanks for your co-operation in this matter.”

Mr Wills stated yesterday that although the books included a number of little or no value which would be available as waste paper, there were many which were eminently suitable.
