DUNEDIN COMPETITIONS.—At the second day of the Dunedin competitions the following Southland competitors were successful:— Mezzo-soprano solo: Miss Catherine Stewart (Gore) 85 points 1, Elsie Kirkham 84 2, Miss Lorna Tile 82 3. Song for girls 13 and under 16: Yvonne Hill 891, Katie Stewart and Norma Scrivener 87 equal 2, Joy Chamberlain (Gore) and Meryl Lemin 86 equal 3. Piano solo, own selection: Miss Rosalie Ferry (Invercargill) highly commended and Miss Marie Winders (Invercargill) commended. Character dance, under 13: Shirley Harvey (Browns) 81 1, Lorna Prattley 79 2, Ngaire Holland 77 3.
