DEATH OF FARMER
Inquest Adjourned Sine Die An inquest into the death of James David Dickison, a farpier of Glenary, which occurred suddenly at his home on Tuesday, was opened before the district coroner, Mr A. T. Newman, at Gore yesterday. Evidence of identification was given by Constable H. E. Pearse, of Waikaia, and the inquest was adjourned sine die. Constable Pearse said that Dickison was a man who had kept good health, but that he had been addicted to periodical drinking bouts. The witness was called to Dickison’s home at 5.45 a.m. on Tuesday and he found him lying on his bed, life being extinct. There were no marks of violence on the body. A drinking glass containing the dregs of a pink fluid and powder was handed to the witness by Mrs Dickison. Later a tin containing a pink powder and labelled "strychnine” was handed to him by a son aged nine years, who had found it in the tool shed.
