BASKETBALL

TOURNAMENT AT GORE An inter-club tournament conducted by the Eastern Southland Basketball Sub-Asso-ciation was concluded on the hostel courts. The tournament was won by St. Patrick’s I after several close contests. Conditions were fair, but a strong wind made it difficult for shooting. At the end of the tournament the president, Mr R. G. Kitto, presented each member of the winning team with a small trophy. Next Saturday a representative practice will be held at the hostel courts at 2.30 p.m., after which teams will be selected to play Southland second grade teams and South Otago.
