VICTORY ART UNION
Returns Received To Date Up to yesterday morning returns from the Victory Art Union of the Southland Provincial Patriotic Council amounted to £1458. This was reported to a meeting of the publicity sub-com-mittee of the council yesterday. It was also reported that the Women’s Metropolitan Patriotic Committee was to hold a street day in the city on Friday to assist the art union. It was decided to communicate with the Gore Patriotic Committee suggesting that a similar street day be held there. A report on the recent radio appeal for the patriotic fund stated that a substantial number of the donations promised by telephone on that occasion had still to be received. Country donations will be received by secretaries of local patriotic committees and city donations should be paid at the Town Hall. It was reported that window stickers advertising comforts coupons had been distributed to shopkeepers in the city, and the hope was expressed that full use would be made of them.
