In this block, collecting will commence on THURSDAY, 17th SEPTEMBER). From Tuatapere by main road to Orepuki Dairy Factory and Pahia Dairy factory. (Pahia, Wakapatu, Colac Bay Road by arrangement with carr r). Pahia to Round Hill and Colac Bay returning to Lake George and thence by Ward’s Road to Hekeia Dairy Factory and on to Riverton S. Oteramika Factory to Kapuka Railway Station, along old road to Mokotua Factory then past Oteramika School along Culls road to main road and back past Monument to Kennington Daily Factory. From Kennington along main road to Hughes corner and by back road to Woodlands. Along Woodlands-Grove Bush Road to McNay’s corner and back by Robertson’s and Dennis’s to main road. Thence along main road to Woodlands Cemetery and on to Works by route travelled in previous years. G. M. HOBBS (’Phone IM, Private Line, Kapuka)— Kapusa to Gorge Road Dairy Factory, thence by Mataura River Briclge to Titiroa Dairy Factorv and along bottom road to Island Dairy Factory. From Island Dairy Factory to Seaward Downs School comer and on to McCall s corner, Drake’s comer, Manson’s corner and back to Seaward Downs School. Then by River Road to Menzies Ferry Dairy Factory and on via Sinclair’s comer and Fyfe’s corner to Wyndham-Edendale Road. Also main road Edendale to Ota Creek. G. M. HOBBS (’Phone IM, Private Line, Kapuka)—Morton Mains South School to Morton Mains Dairy Factory, then along Tobins Road to Main Road. Turn to right along Fahey’s Road and again to right along to Stevenson’s comer and back to main road at Dacre School. Thence along back road to Hunt’s comer and back to main road. Turn off main road along Fergie’s road to Morton Mains-Kamahi Road and along past Kamahi Railway Station to Cemetery comer-Edendale Hill. Down Edendale Hill turning off at Swamp Road and along same to main road and back along main road through Edendale to Seaward Downs Dairy Factory. Then returning by same road to Campbell’s corner and on to Menzies Ferry Dairy Factory. Thence to Wyndham-Edendale Road and on by Coal Pit Road to Ota Creek. J. M. TAPPER (’Phone IM, Waimahaka)—Waimahaka to Fortrose Dairy - Factory and on through Fortrose to Otara Dairy Factory. Thence to Wild’s comer on the Tokanui Road. (To Tokanui Factory ONCE per week after the Ist OCTOBER). Then along main road to Fortrose and back by main road to Toi Tois Dairy Factory. Then to Pine Bush Dairy Factory, Letter Box Comer, Glenham Dairy Factory and Wyndham Dairy Factory. From Wyndham to Oware Dairy Factory returning to point on Redan Road. Thence via Mimihau School and Cemetery to Wyndham-Mataura Road and on to Works. Also Mataura to Tuturau Dairy Factory to Dickie’s corner and Heap’s corner on Mataura-Wyndham Road. F. OSBORNE (Thone 118, Mataura)—FlßST TRIP: Mataura via main road to Ota Creek Station Road and along same. Back to Brydone Dairy Factory and then along Te Tipua-Glencoe Road. From Brydone along main road turning into Terrace Road and thence via Dunn’s Road to Works. SECOND TRIP: Mataura round Femdale Block Road. Also Mataura along Waimumu Road to Terrace Road and on to Gore From Gore to Whiterig Dairy Factory and Pukerau Dairy Factory and back by main road to Works. ONCE PER WEEK from Gore to Otamita Dairy Factory returning via Knapdale Hall to Whiterig. NOTE— In the meantime the lorry will not go beyond Wright, Stephenson & Co.’s Service Station, Gore. The extension of the collecting service to Otamita, Whiterig and Pukerau will be adverTo conserve stocks of tyres and petrol, the Transport Authorities have asked for a -'■duction in Motor Transport Services. Consequently we have re-arranged the routes along which carriers will travel, and farmers not living on a specified route will require to bring their calves to some convenient point thereon. . Lorries will call at all Dairy Factories mentioned and farmers may bring their calves to a Factory pen providing same has been arranged for by the Company. Carriers are required to keep strictly to the routes set out. IMPORTANT— INDIVIDUAL PENS ARE PREFERRED BUT WHERE TWO OR MORE PERSONS PLACE CALVES IN THE SAME PEN, THEY MUST LEAVE A NOTE IN THE BOX FOR THE CARRIER GIVING THEIR NAME AND ADDRESS AND NUMBER OF CALVES SUPPLIED. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR CARRIERS TO EXAMINE CALF TAGS FOR THIS INFORMATION. Regulations covering the age and the feeding and shelter of calves left in pens are still in operation. ALL CALVES MUST BE TAGGED WITH SUPPLIERS’ NAME AND ADDRESS. CALVES NOT TAGGED CANNOT BE PAID FOR. Supplies of tags procurable from carters or Dairy Factories. PAYMENTS—An advance payment of 7/6 per head will be made on all good calves supplied to the Pool. Reject calves will be paid for at the rate of 3/6 per head. CASH PAYMENTS for calves will be made available at the S.I.D.A. OFFICE, DON STREET, throughout the collecting period, and all monies not collected from this Office by the end of the season will be remitted by post to the persons concerned.
