BLUFF NEWS
SOLDIER WELCOMED HOME.— Private Noel Robertson, son of Mr J. Robertson, of Blijff, returned home yesterday. He was welcomed at the station by the DeputyMayor, Mr O. F. Metzger, who apologized for the absence of the Mayor. Other council representatives were present as well as a gathering of citizens. Mr Metzger called for three hearty cheers. Private Robertson was wounded in the first Libyan campaign. He was invalided home some time ago and since then has been a patient in the Dunedin hospital. He was educated at the Auckland Grammar School and before enlsting was in the Government grading department at Bluff. NATIONAL SAVINGS.— For the twentieth week in succession the flag was at the top
of the mast at the post office on Saturday, showing that Bluff had again reached its weekly quota towards National Savings. GOLF.—A Stableford match played on Saturday was won by E. Parsons with a score of 27-9-36. In a women's stroke eclectic match the winners were.—Senior, Mrs Bragg, Mrs Eadie; junior, Miss Dawson, Mrs McQuarrle.
