TUATAPERE BOWLING CLUB.— At the annual meeting of the Tuatapere Bowling Club it was stated that the club had had a successful season. The winners of club competitions were: Championship singles, E. Gregory; championship pairs, Tuffery and Hughes. A series of progressive tournaments was held on Saturday afternoons for which Mr G. Charlton presented trophies. The winners were Mrs J. King and C. Gregory (for skips), H. Mathieson and P. Hamilton (for leads). The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mr D. McLeod; vicepresident, Mr A. Hughes; secretary, Mr C. Bruce; treasurer, Mr A. Hughes; greenranger, Mr A. Rillstone; committee, Messrs A. P. McDonald, L. Simms, J. Tuffery, J. Mclntyre, H. Mathieson, J. King and H. Benneworth. As wet weather prevented the holding of a tournament for patriotic funds, a social evening was held after the annual meeting and donations from members and the proceeds from a competition yielded £B/3/- for the patriotic funds.
