DAIRY FACTORY REPORTS
OTARA.—In last year’s report it was estimated that the final payment for butterfat for the 1940-41 season would be l/6.21d a pound, and that was the average price paid for that season for * all grades. The payments for butterfat this season have averaged 1/3.94d. for all grades, and it is estimated that a further 1.95 d. may be paid, making a total of l/5.89d. The intake of milk shows a slight increase on that of last season. The directors recommend that the sum of £92//18/7 be transferred from the appropriation account to the reserve account to provide bank reduction. The directors retiring by rotation are Messrs James Blair, William Blair and G. S. Thwaites, aU of whom are eligible for re-election. WRIGHTS BUSH.—In last year’s report it was estimated that the final return for the 1940-41 season would be l/6.65d. a pound butterfat. The average price paid for the whole season for all grades was 1/G.59d. Advance payments for butterfat this season have been 1/6 for September, and 1/5 for the other months. The average for all grades was 1/5.03d. It is estimated that a further 1.84 d. may be paid, making a total of l/6.87d. The intake of milk shows an increase on that of the previous season of approximately 3 per cent. The directors recommend a dividend of 2>/ 2 per cent, to be paid to shareholders on their paid-up capital, absorbing the sum of £42/1/-. The directors retiring by rotation are Messrs C. Bray and T. S. Muirhead, both of whom are eligible for re-election. PINE BUSH.—In last year’s report it was estimated that the final payment for the 1940-41 season would be l/5.67d a pound of butterfat. The average price for all was 1/5.70d. The payment for butterfat this season has been 1/4 for first grade butterfat manufactured into cheese. The average for all grades was 1/4. It is estimated that a further 1.73 d may be paid, making a total for all grades of l/5.73d. The rutake this season shows a slight decrease on that of last season. The directors retiring by rotation are Messrs R- S. Graham and G. McDonald, who are eligible for re-election, but Mr Graham expresses a wish to retire.
