CHRISTMAS PARCELS FOR SOLDIERS

Christmas parcels for soldiers overseas should reach the store of the National Patriotic Fund Board, Wellington, not later than October 10, states a letter rceived by the Southland Provincial Patriotic Council from Mr G. A. Hayden, secretary of the board. The letter adds: “On account of the movement of troops we are not yet in a position to advise the number of parcels that will be required, but I hope to let you have the information at a very early date. In the meantime would you please base your requirements on your quota of a total of 50,000 parcels. This number will, I think, be on the high side.”
