PARLIAMENT TO REASSEMBLE
House To Meet On Tuesday
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, August 14. The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, tonight announced that Parliament would reassemble on Tuesday evening for a resumption of the session. When the House of Representatives concluded its business on July 10 the adjournment was taken to September 16, but the motion for the adjournment contained the usual provision that Parliament should reassemble earlier if necessary. Mr Fraser was unable tonight to give any indication about the likely duration of the session, but it is not expected to be long. A secret sitting will be held to discuss the war situation, and if it meets the convenience of members this will probably take place on Tuesday evening. • , , , Supplementary estimates of departmental expenditure will be dealt with if available, and it is probable that the legislation will include a Bill further extending the Fair Rents Amendment Act, which expires at the end of October.
