8TH ARMY REINFORCED

(Rec. 11 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 11. The Bth Army is being steadily strengthened by supplies and reinforcements arriving in the Suez Canal zone, reports The Daily Telegraph’s Cairo correspondent. Suez itself is prepared to handle twice the volume of supplies that arrived three months ago. Reuters correspondent says a feature of the fighting on the Alamein front in the last fortnight has been duels between British artillery—our 25-pound-ers captured by Field Marshal Rommel and now turned against us. British gunners on the Ruweisak Ridge claim we are getting the better of the duels. They say our fire has forced at least two enemy batteries from their desert holes, whereas we have not shifted our position once. Heavy Allied ah- attacks are again beginning, overshadowing the artillery duels.
